Polar Madonna
In a rare close encounter, I came upon this polar bear mother and her two cubs making a long distance swim in Ungava Bay. The cubs actually hold on to their mother’s back with their front paws while she swims. For me, this image has become a powerful symbol of hope for the future of the Arctic.
